Radical Self-Love vs. Modern Psychiatry

Why aren’t hospitals handing out vibrators?
Orgasm is proven to reduce stress and release dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins, with no chemical dependency and no withdrawal. Yet modern psychiatry treats pharmacology as if it were the only credible solution to human suffering.
Why do we assume it’s foolproof?
Fifty years from now, will today’s psychiatric drug protocols be viewed the way we now view bloodletting?
Just sixty years ago, people diagnosed with schizophrenia were given Cardiazol to “stimulate” the nervous system. It caused violent, body-breaking seizures. That was considered treatment.
So how is the mass distribution of Abilify in emergency psych wards fundamentally better?
Because patients are tranquilized instead of convulsing? Do we truly understand the long-term neurological and spiritual effects of these so-called mood stabilizers?
What don’t they tell you when they hand them out like Skittles?
While orgasm strengthens the nervous system, reconnects the body, and restores a sense of wholeness, pharmaceuticals often numb sensation, dampen intuition, and disconnect people from themselves. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might say that’s by design.
Schizophrenia and psychosis are often framed solely as pathology, but they can also look like expanded awareness without grounding or energetic hygiene. Instead of teaching people how to stabilize, cleanse, and integrate overwhelming internal experiences, modern medicine blocks them chemically.
I learned how easily pills are offered first hand when I was locked up against my will due to a misunderstanding of my spiritual awakening.
I arrived in police custody, treated like a criminal, and the first thing offered to me was Abilify. Not food. Not a shower. Pills.
It was the day before my 40th birthday. I was calm. I refused the medication.
They could have offered me a bath and a piece of dark chocolate to support dopamine and serotonin. I asked for a shower. They refused. “Not enough staff to watch you.”
That’s when I realized a psych ward is essentially adult daycare. Windowless detention. Jail with softer language.
They should have been handing out vibrators. At least to the women. The men can have the bath and chocolate.
Instead, there was no education. No natural alternatives. No sound healing. No art therapy. No binaural beats piped through the halls or through some cheap airline headphones. Nothing ancient and time tested. Nothing humane. Certainly no self pleasure.
Why don’t crisis centers integrate practices humans have used for thousands of years? Music. Rhythm. Creation. Touch. Pleasure. Breath.
Why don’t we address root causes instead of suppressing symptoms?
Pills cannot do soul work.
What people need is love. And self-pleasure is the most direct way to access it.
